Suspension Yoga is here! This new form of yoga practice utilizes a yoga swing, a stretchable sling equipped with three handles at various lengths on either side of the sling, or the "swing" itself. The Yoga Swing, with its sling and straps, can be used to enhance many yoga postures, including inversions, backbends, forward bends, stretching and strength building. The Yoga Swing will be used on a supported Yoga Swing Stand, which can be easily disassembled to take Suspension Yoga indoors or outdoors on our Backyard Deck!
Why Suspension Yoga?
Inversion Therapy
Many back problems are due to gravity’s chronic downward pull on our bodies. Inversion Therapy reverses the flow of gravity without any special strength, balance or agility. Freeing oneself of gravity aids in reversing the age process by over 50%. Inversion therapy promotes blood and lymphatic movement and exchange and aids in tissue rejuvenation, just five minutes of inversion is the equivalent of three hours sleep.
Core Strengthening
Any level of flexibility or age will enjoy Suspension Yoga and flowing through different postures. Strengthen the lower abdominal muscles, create a strong central core which enables the entire bodily structure to become strong and unified.
Total Body Strenthening
In addition to the core, Suspension Yoga is a challenging, fun way to work the entire body. With the use of the Yoga Swing's straps, many body strengthening postures can be accomplished to build the chest, arms, legs and back muscles.
No Impact
For those of you who may have knee problems, and find kneeling or putting weight on one knee to be injurious, Suspension Yoga removes all impact to joints, allowing you to move free of impact.
